About

World Premiere | Commissioned by Bleach* Festival

For 25 years, Inkahoots has played an influential role in Australia’s arts community, with their distinct brand of socially conscious design and installation works that challenge the narrative of accepted public discourse.

With humble beginnings as a Brisbane-based community access screen-printing studio, Inkahoots has morphed into one of the country’s leading artistic commentators on complex social issues.

Seamlessly tying in the history-laden surrounds with new technology, both young and old can listen, contribute and learn from the Bleach* Festival commissioned Open Song in 2016.

Open Song is a song made by you by walking in a space. It’s a user generated, geolocated soundscape, featuring contributions from Mudgeeraba State School and Somerset College students, hip hop group Tailor Made, as well as from one of Australia’s greatest songwriters, Kev Carmody. Open Song enables anyone with a connected device to compose a unique soundtrack as they move through Mudgeeraba’s Village Green.
